When two icons with a shared appreciation for heritage, storytelling and craftsmanship come together, extraordinary things happen.
In 2021, The Macallan launched Anecdotes of Ages, a unique collection of single malt whiskies created in collaboration with renowned British pop artist Sir Peter Blake. Celebrating nearly 200 years of distillery history, the project brought together art, whisky making and storytelling in a collection that honours the people, places and moments that shaped the legacy of The Macallan. Pack design, creative direction and realisation were delivered by Lineup Studios.
The Challenge
The partnership was a collaboration between two cultural icons, each with a rich legacy and a deep connection to storytelling.
The challenge was to create a luxury presentation that would honour both the heritage of The Macallan and Blake’s artistic vision. The experience needed to transform nearly two centuries of history into a compelling collector's piece while creating a seamless dialogue between the worlds of fine art and fine whisky.
The Idea

The concept was born from the longstanding relationship between Blake and The Macallan. Both share a strong connection to heritage, community and the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Easter Elchies Estate, the characters who shaped the distillery's history, and Blake's iconic crowd-collage style, the collaboration became a celebration of stories that span generations.
